Teacher Resources

Murfreesboro Electric offers electrical presentations to schools that are served by us.  This program is for Kindergarten through 6th grade.  For K-4th, the presentation will include a 10-minute video, "Play it Safe Around Electricity", a talk about electric safety, and a demonstration of the Van de Graaf Electrostatic Generator.  For 5th and 6th grades, we will discuss how electric gets from the generation point to the home and will also include a  demonstration of the Van de Graaf Electrostatic Generator.  Both presentations last approximately 45 minutes. For more information, call the Marketing Department at 893-5514 or send an email to MED's Marketing Department.

The Tennessee Valley Authority - which provides all the electricity that Murfreesboro Electric Department distributes to our customers - has developed an extensive set of resource materials for teachers at all levels. These materials include teaching guides, suggested activities, lesson plans and a Renewable Energy Resources curriculum.
