MED offers three convenient billing programs

Everyone manages their finances differently, and at Murfreesboro Electric Department we understand that customers want options on how they are billed.  Whether you’re looking for control over your electric usage or fewer surprises on your bill, MED has a billing program that fits your needs.

  • Standard monthly billing – With the traditional billing structure, customers receive a bill for approximately 30 days of usage based on how much electricity they consumed during that billing cycle. The bill fluctuates based on the customer’s usage during the cycle along with rates and time of year. Those low or high temperatures can really make a difference in your usage.
  • PowerUp program – Want to know how much electricity your household is using each day and how much it costs? The PowerUp program is a prepaid or “pay as you go” option that gives customers control over their account, eliminating monthly bills and allowing them to track their usage.  For more information on the Power Up Program Click Here.
  • Budget billing – No one likes being surprised by a high electric bill once a month. Budget billing makes it easier to set a budget each month. This program is based on a rolling average of the customer’s usage over the last 12 months. Your highest bills come down and your lowest bills come up, removing fluctuations from your monthly bill.
